Proposal to Establish a Programme of Technical Assistance to Haiti

Vision

To re-establish links between Haitians and those in the Diaspora within their respective professions in furtherance of the transfer of knowledge and expertise in pursuit of the country’s development

Objectives

1) to establish short- and long-term programmes in which Haitian professionals in Diaspora can dialogue with local counterparts

2) to establish a programme in which Haitian professionals can interact with students in Haiti

3) to establish a programme in which Haitian professionals can undertake community service in Haiti

Immediate Actions in furtherance of the above Objectives:

§ Compile list of NGOs operating in Haiti and possibly in need of technical assistance.

§ Compile list of universities and technical schools in Haiti.

§ Compile list of Haitian ambassadors in Africa and African ambassadors to Haiti.

§ Compile database of Haitian professionals.
